Nagaur Fair

The Nagaur Fair, an important event in Rajasthan has the distinction of being the second largest cattle fair of India. The festive ambience during the Nagaur Fair is permeated by the bellows of the cattle that are decorated by their owners and the general buzz that is associated with fairs such as these. The Nagaur Fair is the trading point for beautifully decorated cattle that include cows, bullocks, horses, oxen and camels. According to rough estimates, over 70,000 bullocks, camels and horses are traded every year during Nagaur Fair. Imagine the sheer cacophony and the charged atmosphere at Nagaur during the ongoing Nagaur Fair that is usually held in the months of Jan- Feb.

Besides the tradeoff, the four-day Nagaur Fair is also marked by several cultural and sport events that leave the spectators entertained thoroughly. Participate in the tug-of-war contest, camel races & bullock races and see the elegantly plumed cocks fight it out at the Nagaur Fair in Rajasthan. You can shop for exquisitely made local handicrafts at the Mirchi Bazaar that is a special attraction of the Nagaur Fair. Bonfires and gaily-decorated camps add more color and excitement, which makes a visit to the Nagaur Fair a truly memorable experience
