Marwar Festival, Jodhpur

Rajasthan has been since time immemorial, known as the land of the valiant Rajputs - the very Rajputs who didn't even think twice before courting death while their womenfolk committed jauhar (jumping alive into a lit pyre) without batting an eyelid - valuing honor above life. It is to commemorate this brave resilient spirit of Rajasthan that the Marwar Festival is celebrated in Jodhpur every year.

The Marwar festival was originally known as the Maand Festival.
