Kappad Beach

Known locally as Kappadkadavu, the Kappad beach of Kerala, India is a beautiful rock studded beach whose name will forever remain etched in history books. This is so, because Kappad beach is the very sight where Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese explorer, landed on 27th May 1498, which made him the first European to sail across the Arabian Sea.

Located 16kms from the tourist city of Kozhikode, the pristine Kammad Beach seems to have remained totally impervious to the changes of time.
