Munnar

Munnar is the most popular of all the hill stations in Kerala, India. Situated at an altitude that varies between 1600 - 2695 m, Munnar was the summer resort of the British in the past. As a legacy, you can still see some of the colonial bungalows and buildings in Munnar. Also, thanks to British, Munnar is now home to some of the best tea plantations in South India. Indeed some of the highest tea estates in India are situated in Munnar only. Enjoy the scenic beauty of Munnar and explore its tea plantations only with us.

The natural beauty of Munnar, Kerala is evident in its myriad waterfalls, lakes and streams that course their way through the green hill slopes and valleys. As you go on nature walks, treks and bird watching tours through the verdant valleys of Munnar, you will come across a peculiar variety of plants grown in the forests and plantations of Munnar, which have medicinal properties and are used by practioners of Ayurveda in Kerala. You will also come across the Neelkurinji plant, which lends a blue shade to the hills of Kerala, that are given the sobriquet of Nilgiri (Blue Hills)

The name Munnar means 'Three Rivers' and the region is aptly named as Munnar lies on the confluence of the three mountain streams, namely, Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Hence the hill station of Munnar provides ample opportunities for fishing too.

Munnar is so placed that is easy to make short trips to the various tourist attractions that lie within an easy distance of this charming beautiful hill station. Visit the Erivakulam National Park that is home to the rare Nilgiri Tahr and the hill station of Devikulam that has a beautiful picnic spot by the way of Sita Devi Lake.
