Miramar Beach
Located at a distance of 3 Kms from Panjim / Panaji, The Capital City of Goa, it is the nearest Beach to Panjim. Miramar Beach is also referred to as Gaspar Dias and is the point where the Mandovi River merges with the Arabian Sea. There is a dense canopy of palm trees around that will offer you enough shade.
Miramar is at a distance of 1 Kms from Dona Paula Beach. The word “Miramar” in Portuguese means “viewing the sea”. From the Beach, you can catch a glimpse of The Aguada Fort which is just opposite River Mandovi. The Miramar Beach has soft and sandy Beach where you may soak your feet and enjoy the surrounding nature.
Activities At Miramar Beach
The Miramar Beach is an ideal location for evening walks. And you will find many people taking a stroll in the evening. You will love to walk on the soft white sand.Unlike other Beaches in Goa (Calangute, Anjuna etc), where you will find mainly tourists, Miramar Beach has visitors that comprise locals as well as tourists.
You can explore few make-shift shops that are present on the Miramar Beach. Men, Women, and Children roam about with Colored Stones, Rings, Earrings made of Colored Shells etc and try to get their stuff sold.
You can buy few of them. However, you have to settle for the price as these are sold at a cost higher than what they should be. So, you can bargain sometimes. Although the quality of such stuff is not good, but if you fancy them, you can get one or 2 for yourself.
Shops on the Miramar Beach are of different types. You will also find many local eateries where you can have local cuisine.
Reaching Miramar Beach
The nearest airport is Dabolim. You can land at this airport or undertake a journey to Miramar Beach by Bus. If you are coming from Calangute or other parts of Goa, you can reach Panjim first. From there you can avail local transport and get down at Miramar Beach.

The nearest hotel from Miramar Beach is Miramar Residency, which is a hotel complex that belongs to Goa Tourism Department. The tariff is quite reasonable and there are adequate amenities.

Best Time To Visit Miramar Beach
It is moist all year round. And there is fluctuation in weather. During the months of October through May, it is pleasant. June through September is rainy. The best time to visit Miramar Beach is during the months of November through March. Try not to visit this part of India in May since it is quite warm and the temperature is approximately 30 Degrees Centigrade.
