Anjuna Beach
Anjuna Beach is one of the well known beaches in Goa. It is known for its trance parties and this is also that part of Goa where hippies make their rounds once in a while. The turquoise water of the Arabian Sea breaks on the shores of Anjuna Beach. This place is appropriate for the ones who love to spend their holiday in a carefree manner. In fact, you can spend hours whiling away your time on the rocks of this beach.
Anjuna Beach is sometimes referred to as the “freak capital of the world”. This place was discovered sometime during the period 1950s to 1960s by few travelers. This place was used by them as a party venue where they used to meet and make merry.
Anjuna Beach Location
A small North Goan village, Anjuna is situated on the shores of Arabian Sea. It is at a distance of 18 km from the capital city of Goa, Panaji or Panjim.
Best Time To Visit Anjuna Beach Goa
The climate of Anjuna Beach Goa doesn’t change much. And it is mostly constant throughout the year. It is warm during April and May. And you may require light woolen stuff during the winter months that is from December to January.
The Summer Temperatures range between 24 degrees and 32 degrees and the Winter Temperatures range between 21 degrees and 32 degrees.Since it is pleasant throughout the year, you can choose to visit the Anjuna beach anytime of the year.
Anjuna Beach Activities
Swimming is not allowed in some of the beaches as the under currents are strong. It is best to consult a lifeguard before you try it out.
Touring the Chapora Fort - This fort is very close to the beach and you can explore the fort. From the fort you get an exquisite view of the Vagator beach.
Other places you can visit are the Albuquerque Mansion and Mascarenhas Mansion.

Reaching Anjuna Beach Goa
You can reach Anjuna Beach Goa by air, rail and road.
Air
As far as traveling by air is concerned, you will have to land at Dabolim airport which is the nearest airport. It is at a distance of 47 km from Anjuna and 29 km from Panjim. From the airport you can drive down in a car or avail bus services.
Road
From Mapusa, there are regular bus services to Anjuna. And if you don’t have much luggage with you, be a bit adventurous and you can hire a motorbike.
Rail
Karmali is the nearest railway station. It is at a distance of 29 km from Anjuna.
