Raj Ghat

Raj Ghat marks the very spot where the' Father of the Nation' Mahatma Gandhi was cremated following his assassination in 1948. The memorial is represented by a simple square platform with a black memorial stone with "Hey Ram" inscribed on it, as they were the last words uttered by Gandhi before he collapsed.

The Raj Ghat memorial is situated on the banks of River Yamuna and is a focal point of visiting for any foreign dignitary who travels to Delhi, India. It is also open for ordinary people as well as foreign tourists. You can also participate in the prayer process that is held on all weekdays except Friday. Tourists in Raj Ghat can assimilate a bit of the Gandhi philosophy through pictures, sculptures and photos.
